ISIS fighters from Malaysia and Indonesia form the Military Unit

Militants from Indonesia and Malaysia are fighting in Syria have formed a military unit to join the fighters ISIS, analysts mengkhawatir this can extend their reach in Southeast Asia.

This unit is called Katibah archipelago Close Daulah Islamiyyah, or unit of the Malay Archipelago to the Islamic State in Iraq and Syria.

Jakarta-based Institute for Policy Conflict Analysis (IPAC) estimated in a report that the new unit has at least 22 members. They came together in the city of Al-Shadadi, in the province of Syria Hasaka, early last month.
